GG and I partied early for our birthdays, and wow, it was such a blast! GG turned 77 on June 7th, and I celebrated my big #1 on June 10th. GG had this amazing chocolate cake, and I got my very own chocolate cupcake. Grammie says I was more into wearing the chocolate on my tray and belly than actually eating it—oops! She let me have a few licks of the frosting though, and oh my gosh, it was soooo good. The best part? Meeting some of my cousins who traveled all the way from Arkansas. And, oh, the presents! Papa sent some money, and Grammie used it to get me new books, a learning computer, and sensory toys. My other GG and Grandpa sent this awesome red dragon I’m obsessed with and some fun balls—including two HUGE ones I can sit or lay on. Ms. Dawn totally spoiled me with new clothes and touch-and-feel books (Grammie reads them to me, and I like flipping the pages). Plus, Grammie got me sand, slime, playdough, and paint so we could make hand and footprint art. Let’s just say the “art” didn’t go as planned—my prints looked more like blobs—but Grammie says she’ll fix them later with a black marker to trace my hands and feet. All in all, it was such an awesome day!
But here’s the not-so-fun part—I got sick on my actual birthday and haven’t been feeling great since then. Grammie talked to my doctor, and now I have to use my breathing meds more often and take it easy. The good news is I get to stay home instead of going to the hospital, which Grammie says is a really big relief. I’ve been using my pacifier more lately, and Grammie’s super proud of me for being a “pacie baby.” She says it’s helping me learn to swallow and getting me closer to eating real food—how cool is that?!
Oh, and guess what? My stander chair finally arrived! At first, I wasn’t a fan (like, at all), but I’m starting to get used to it and don’t mind it so much now. Progress!
