Today is an exciting day for Zayden. His Pulmonologist has changed Zayden's medical orders towards ventilator use and O2 monitor use. As of today, we are going to try discontinuing ventilator totally. We are hoping this is the next step towards getting his trach removed and that he will do great with no setbacks.
We are looking forward to more freedoms for Zayden and all his caregivers. Here is to:
No more nights of fighting with Zayden to keep his vent hose connected when he is determined that he wants it disconnected.
No more nights of alarms going off every few minutes because Zayden has covered his exhalation valve.
O2 monitor use when Zayden is sleeping or napping giving both Zayden and his caregivers more freedom to move around.
These are huge milestones and accomplishments that Zayden has made. He has worked so hard and his determination is showing more each day. We are all super proud of him and his progress.
